Dear Volunteers – We hope everybody is safe and well. Our COVID-19 response continues to pick up speed this month. We are pleased to present to you our newest pages on HandsOn Sacramento that will help you find the perfect volunteer opportunity. We are launching our Virtual Volunteering page, which is a dedicated resource to volunteer in the comfort of your own home. In this page, you will see currently available local volunteer opportunities, FAQs for those who need help navigating our website, and a Volunteer Safety page to provide you with precautions while volunteering onsite. We also have other virtual volunteer resources from our partners at Points of Light Foundation, GenerationOn and California Volunteers.
Please be sure to register at HandsOn Sacramento first before you volunteer. While we appreciate you for sharing our volunteer opportunities on social media, our partner volunteer agencies would like to know who their volunteers are and when they are coming. Also, please know, that when you support a COVID-19 volunteer response effort, you are providing an essential service to our community. We will continue to send you updates as the situation on evolves. The need is urgent. Please continue to check back here for additional opportunities and the situation is always changing.

Donations of Hand Sanitizers and Face Masks Abound!
HandsOn Sacramento and Sacramento Region Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) have successfully distributed boxes 678 of hand sanitizer from SK Pharmteco and additional sanitizer from J.J. Pfister Distilling Co. to our community-based Agency Partners. We also distributed 310,000 cloth face masks from FEMA to Agency Partners. This resulted in a one-day hand sanitizer distributing event at a local warehouse.
HandsOn Sacramento and St. Paul COGIC on Spotlight:Darik’s Good Deeds and Darik’s Instagood
Last month, Mix 96 and Now 100.5 interviewed HandsOn Sacramento and St. Paul COGIC at St. Paul COGIC in Sacramento. We are glad to share the good deeds that we do for our community and giving one of our partners a platform to share theirs. We shared how HandsOn Sacramento helps partners like St. Paul COGIC by providing volunteers who are helping them to do good in their community through their weekly food distribution program. The program launched this year to provide the need for the community’s high demand for food. Stay tuned and watch out for our segment airing over the radio and social media.
