Homeless Assistance Resource Team (HART) Volunteer Opportunities

South Sacramento HART Respite Center

Minimum age (individual): 18

Court Ordered Volunteers allowed

When to volunteer:

2nd Saturdays

9:00am – 12:30pm

Volunteer duties include:

  • Setup
  • Health screening of guests
  • Signing in guests
  • Organizing hygiene supplies and donated items
  • Serve coffee and snacks to guests
  • Provide hospitality to guests
  • Monitor restrooms

COVID-19 Guidelines in place:

  • Face masks provided
  • Handwashing stations
  • Hand sanitizers on site
  • Drinkable water on site
  • Physical distancing (6 ft. or farther) policy imposed
  • Health screening in place
  • Must be in good health condition

Carmichael HART Student Buddy Mentors

Minimum age (individual): 18

Court Ordered Volunteers allowed

Flexible time schedule

Volunteer duties include:

  • Build one-on-one buddying relationships for children in grades K-12 who have the need for a positive role model
  • Improve positive social behaviors of children
  • Support improved family stability and functioning

COVID-19 Guidelines in place:

  • Remote volunteer opportunity

Midtown HART Respite Center

Minimum age (individual): 18

Court Ordered Volunteers allowed

Tuesdays

9:00am – 12:00pm

Volunteer duties include:

  • Screens guests
  • Checks in guests
  • Sanitize chairs and tables in between use

COVID-19 Guidelines in place:

  • Face masks provided
  • Handwashing stations
  • Hand sanitizers on site
  • Drinkable water on site
  • Physical distancing (6 ft. or farther) policy imposed
  • Must be in good health condition
